Les Vaisseaux de 74 a 120 Canons - Historique 1650-1850
Nach Beendigung der Studien über die Fregatte (siehe Artikel Nr. 911), ist der nächste logische Schritt mit den 50- und 64- Kanonen-Schiffen, bzw. den 74- und 120-Kanonen-Schiffen fort zu fahren, was in zwei separaten Bänden geschieht. Diese Ausgabe ist den 74- und 120 Kanonen-Schiffen gewidmet, Schiffstypen von überlegener Stärke, inklusive den Drei-Deckern. Drei Kapitel mit historischem Inhalt werden durch ein viertes Kapitel mit allgemeinen Angaben zu diesen Schiffstypen ergänzt. Die Entwicklung der reichen Verzierungen an den Schiffen, eine Mode, die erstmals in dieser Zeit in Erscheinung tritt, wird im 5. Kapitel geschildert. Das sechste und letzte Kapitel befasst sich mit verschiedenen Schiffsmodellen. Ein Blick auf das in englischer Sprache verfasste, unter diesem Text stehende, Inhaltsverzeichnis zeigt den Umfang des Stoffes, welcher in diesem Band behandelt wird.
