Hans Cramer - last a very high decorated General of the Panzertruppe - must be described as a controversial personality. As a high-ranking officer, he was returning home from British captivity in 1944 because of a reportedly serious illness. In May 1943 he went into British captivity with the troops of the Corps - into the famous Officers' Camp Trent Park.
