After World War 2 the British Army, as one of the four Allied victors, took control over one of the sectors in Berlin. With the deployment of D Squadron, 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards, the commanding officer of the unit started to challenge the way of camouflage as the vehicles always looked out of place in urban areas.
