During the 2nd WW, German submarines often landed on threatening landings for operational reasons. For example landings at the coasts of countries such as Ireland, Spain and the USA for espionage reasons happened, but also at the North African coast in support of Rommel's Africa Corps.
The author documents many of these difficult and special submarine deployments. He deals with submarine bases and bunkers he has visited in Germany, France and Norway, shows their strategic importance and explains how and why these facilities were built.
With 420 b/w pictures, some sketch maps and abbreviations.
