Der Luftangriff auf Mailand am 14. Februar 1916 / The Air Raid on Milan on 14 February 1916
The bombing of the Milan power station by Austro-Hungarian military airmen was a high-risk commando on a completely new strategic target.
However, this plan did not become feasible until February 1916, when Ferdinand Porsche was able to deliver the improved Austro-Daimler engine and the Lohner aircraft-plant were able to deliver the new aircraft model B.VII.
Now, finally, the unique opportunity arose to attack the energy supply of the Italian war industry.
But for this unprecedented squadron flight, all performance limits had to be reached at least, and the plan, despite the greatest secrecy, was betrayed even at the last moment. The author has succeeded in completely reconstructing the history of this interesting plan for the first time.
The documentation of this particularly exciting chapter of k.u.k. military aviation is supplemented by many plans, diaries and original photos from archives and private collections, which have never been published before.
B/W- and color pictures, maps, tables, notes, as well as a bibliography.
