Feindberührung - Erinnerungen 1939-1945
The young lieutenant fights over France and in the Battle of Britain. He quickly makes a name for himself and becomes a squadron captain. In July 1941, his luck turned: crash landing in Brittany, nine months in military hospitals. Back at the front, he was soon commanded from the French Channel coast to North Africa. In the ruins of Carthage, he suspects for the first time: Germany will lose the war.
On 1 February 1943 he had to parachute his downed fighter plane over Tunis. He survives, marked by severe burns.
In May 1944, Meimberg flew again at the front. The Allies land in Normandy and their bomber divisions destroy Germany... With 110 b/w illustrations.
