This book presents the model kits and plastic toys of the VEB Kunststoffverarbeitung Zschopau and also tells the story of the button factory Franz Richter from 1906 to the integration of the factory into the VEB Modell- und Plastspielwarenkombinat Annaberg-Buchholz in 1969.
On hundreds, mostly never before published photos you can see the great toys that were made at the beginning of the 40-year GDR history.
All 22 aircraft, 5 helicopters, 2 space and 2 ship model kits produced in Zschopau until 1970 are presented in detail. Also on display are the three doll harnesses and the ping-pong balls that left the factory all over the world.
Further chapters deal with the various packing slips, glue and paint bottles and the aircraft stands. And also the use of the aircraft models for advertising purposes of other companies is vividly presented, as well as the presentation of the models at the Leipzig trade fairs.
