This book tells the story of the glider pilot Heinz Trescher from Gotha on his way in the 2nd World War, about his training in Germany, his flight to the Cholm pocket in the Soviet Union in 1942, his stationings from 1942 to 1945 in Lecce, Salerno and Naples in Italy as well as in Salonika and Eleusis in Greece.
The pictures end with a photo from the Canadian prison camp in Celle/Germany in 1946.
