Tannenberg 1914.

In August 1914, when Germany marched into northern France, Tsar Nicholas II found himself in a dilemma. According to a treaty with the French, he was obliged to attack Germany. But Russia was not ready for battle. Its troops were unfit, their equipment inferior ... yet the Tzar stood by his treaty, confident that he would be able to overwhelm the Germans. Over the course of the next six weeks the Russians found themselves repeatedly outmanoevred and outwitted by their Germam conterparts. - In the book you will find the order of battle of the Russian and German armies, 46 b/w photographs and 4 small and 14 greater maps of the battle.
