Die deutschen Kolonien

Die deutschen Kolonien
This documentation describes the relative late start of the German colonial ambitions supported by over 300 partly unpublished photographs. As Germany occupied the landscape along the pepper-, the slave- and the gold coast officially in 1882, all the major sea powers already took their share of Africa. The text follows not a chronoligical order, but changes the subject in an interesting kind. In change between historical sites, political and economic backgrounds, as well as the biographies of the most famous colonial leaders, an interesting picture of the German imperialism, which ended in the 1920s, is given.
