Obersalzberg 1933-1945

Obersalzberg 1933-1945
After Hitlers takeover of power in Germany in 1933 the village of Obersalzberg developed to a second power center. In the propaganda Hitler could present himself as "chancellor of the nation" in front of the impressive mountain panorama. While German cities fell to ruins, Obersalzberg stayed intact until the end of the war. Today there are only a few buildings left, so history of the village, a place where fundamental crimes were planned, was terminated. The PastFinder presents the most important places of the NS-history in Obersalzberg and its surrounding and makes them findable again, by a 4-colour-guide-system and maps. The sites are described and shown in b/w- and colour photographs.
