About the u-boats during k.u.k. Navy several books have been published, that only marginally dealt with the officers and commanders of the submarines. For the first time the present work will describe all the men in the imperial Navy, which were appointed as submarine commanders, presented in biographical sketches and hereby are rescued from oblivion.
From 1907-1918 the k.u.k. Navy consisted of 27 submarines, which were commanded by 51 officers. In addition to military history and awards also the post-war fate of the officers are treated and supplemented with about 80 (including many not yet published) pictures.
