This is the first comprehensive book about the destroyer Z 2 GEORG THIELE, one of the first ships of this type of the German Navy. Only a comparatively brief existence was granted. However, the GEORG THIELE is the only German destroyer, whose parts of the wreck remain in Rombaksfjord at Narvik. The authors have collected records and material of all types, plans, drawings, documents from the Federal Archives at Freiburg, war diaries, reports from contemporary naval journals, but also analyzed documents from British archives and put them together in this edition. Shown are the development and construction history of the ship, its description in tables and drawings, technical data, weapons and equipment, a complete chronicle and quotations from reports. Completed is book with reports of contemporary witnesses. With 84 b/w and 17 color photos (of the wreck), 20 drawings and 9 combat maps.
