Vol. 6 covers from the 28th October 1940 – 31st December 1940. This period covers the end of the Battle of Britain and on into the winter when aerial activity decreased significantly due to the weather. There were however still enough fine days to provide an assortment of crashed enemy aircraft for the RAF investigators, the most exotic of which were a handful of Italian aircraft which came down over Essex and Suffolk.
This volume has about 200 original b/w photos, colour profiles and specially commissioned maps to illustrate the aircraft involved.
