This German edition is a translation of the original DUTCH title "Oorlog onder Water!
Immediately after the war began in 1914, the Imperial Navy established a Naval Corps. It had the task to secure the coast and was also responsible for the operations/missions of the naval and air forces, which started there. A part of this corps was the U-boat flotilla Flanders, which during war sank more than 2.500 Allied ships and vehicles and lost itself 80 boats and nearly 1.200 crew members.
The Belgian underwater archaeologist Tomas Termote presents a thoroughly researched, richly illustrated history of this flotilla.
