With the adoption of the HEER2011 restructuring plan, the German Armed Forces embarked on one of the most thorough reorganisations of its existence.
The plan targets future operations across the operational spectrum, ranging from combat against organised military, to stabilisation missions, to humanitarian interventions.
It was with this aim that the German Armed Force’s plan was passed in July 2013.
The basic conceptual idea is that future operations are most likely to be focussed on preventing conflict and managing crises and, significantly, that these will be performed in multinational contexts.
The Engineer troops’ operational tasks will be adapted to reflect the aims of HEER2011.
The equipment of the German engineers is shown in action of a life unit.
