The book documents in precisely all 4.369 missions of attack aircraft of the Luftflotte 1 to support the "Heeresgruppe Nord" at the "Panther Line", the last German line of defense before the border of the Baltic, between Hungerburg at the Gulf of Finland and Newel in Northwest Russia from 28th of February until to 10th of April 1944, and describes the tactical situation on the ground and the losses among the aircrew. At the same time it presents the history of the 1st group Schlachtgeschwader 3 from January until to the end of August 1944.
The book is comprehensively illustrated with 100 pictures, mostly hitherto unpublished, especially about the missions of Stukas in March 1944 at the Eastern Front and in June/July 1944 in Finland.
