The book deals with the six German Fliegerabteilungen and one fighter squadron, which supported the Ottoman Empire during World War One.
This force was the beginning of the Ottoman airforce, which grew to more than 450 aircraft. They flew over the Egypt desert Sinai, Palestine, Syria as well as over the Black Sea and protected the Dardanelles.
