The Mil Mi-24 is the Russian combat helicopter par excellence. Developed at the end of the 1960s, the type soon became a nightmare to the Western military forces, as the brutal machine was superior to anything NATO had to offer and soon became nicknamed "flying armored personell carrier."
Not without any reason: In contrast to Western combat helicopters, the Mi-24 was able to transport eight fully-equipped soldiers and place them in the middle of the battle area - no other combat helicopter is capable of doing so.
