Flughafen Zweibrücken

Flughafen Zweibrücken
Beginning in the 50-ies the airfield Zweibrücken was built from the French occupation army. First ist was used by the Canadian Airforce, in the beginning with the CL-13 Sabre and at the end in 1969 with the CF-104 Starfighter. Then the American Airforce acquired the airfield and stationed Phantoms in all variants.
After the German reunification the airfiled was given back to Germany and many different airlines like TUIfly, Germanwings departed from there.
The European commercial flights ended in 2014, then the Triwo AG bought the airfield and now for example also offers DC-3 flights to attract tourists.
With 530 pictures, most of them in color and some in b/w.
